Spring Fashion

Despite living in the warmest place I ever lived, I am completely over this "winter". I am ready for SPRING! couple reasons-I love warm weather, I love to pull out my spring clothes, and it's my birthday season.

I've pulled some looks on Pinterest that have inspired me this spring! i'd love to be more adventurous with my fashion. Just because I work in a school doesn't mean I have to dress like a dud. But despite all the clothes I have it seems like I wear the same stuff everyday...

Hopefully these looks, along with my favorite blogs (Caraloran and 9to5chic) help me to get a new fashion attitude this spring time!

A day at Target

YAY! it's easter at Target! Which makes me SO excited because my family (minus my sissy) comes for Easter. I had to start buying decor for our Easter Dinner party
We have quiet the eccentric group- Mom Dad Drew Emily Dustin Rachel Fielding and Me...but I grew up a house the celebrated having everyone around the table, especially those who don't have a table to celebrate around!
The Easter Strawberries

$1.00 Sprinkles from Target...Plan on using them to make these strawberries (but in an easter color theme!)

I'm going to have a dessert/treat table with lots of cute little goodies like these!

Also, while at Target I purchased my long awaited Panini maker, and it's save to say I'm obsessed! I decided my first panini would be sundried tomato, goat cheese, arugula, chicken, pesto, ciabata panini...ohhhh It was SOO good!

Hamelton Panini Maker- $40 at Target and it was WELL spent!! OMG! Drew already said he can think of like a thousand sandwiches to make on this bad boy!

Crabbie cakes

My mom makes the absolute best lobster cakes and because I'm a little homesick I thought now would be a great time to make them!
They're so easy and unbelievably good! To make them you use-
1lb fresh crab or lobster
1 c bread crumbs ( I put a little parm in there too)
1 egg
1/2 container of cream cheese
1/2 mayo
4 roasted red peppers diced
1 onion diced

Sauce
3 red peppers
1/2 cup of mayo
Dash salt and pepper
Splash vinegar
1/2 tsp mustard

Fry in 2 in oil screaming hot- enjoy!!

Do I do ombre?

I need help with deciding if I do ombre? I've been very blonde before!

And I am currently brunette...

Here is the look I am thinking? Use the poller on the front page to help me decide! Please

Guest Room makeover

I've been inspired by the blogs i've been seeing on how to make your own headboard. Drew brought his own bed from home as our guest room bed, and it was my style. But the bones of it were perfect for a make over. Sadly the majority of the work had to be done by Drew, but I served as an excellent project manager!
Old head board being affixed to the new board.
I added the Tufting to the board to give it a more polished look!
The finished look!

The whole room is done now (we added the shelf and I put a slipcover over an old chair)

The dressers I painted and added handles too!

Her new favorite room!

We've added a little more to the living room

And a new 60" TV

we're going to update this wall soon...we think the photo is too small for the wall! But I love my pillows!

Jenny's birthday/beach

Home for Jenny's birthday with my best friends! I rarely feel as happy as I do when I am home with the people who show me such love and support! I'd literally be no one without these four ladies...they are my rocks!
Jenny was saying HI to all her guest (nursing school has served her well, she has about a million friends now!)

There she is! The girl of the hour! Boy did I have fun that night...and Jenny looks beautiful...I actually think we look better then we did at 18!
We even managed to get Nicole's care towed...she took it like a champ! I would have cried!!

We also had some beach fun recently...living by the beach in February has it's perks!

you wont see this in Buffalo, NY

Love my guy so much!

My North Carolina people! I'd be so lost/bored/homesick if I didn't have them!

Love my Rachel so much!!!

New Years Eve!

This 2012 New Years Eve was spent with wonderful friends! We had a little bit of a more low-key experience then we usually do. However, that did not stop us from dressing up and enjoying a few drinks!

My dress is a little funky! Its from forever21...and the main selling feature is the open back! You can't go wrong with a 22 dollar dress can you?

My New years kiss

Bringing in 2013 with the best girls in the world! We have spent the couple New Years together, and honestly I can't imagine new years going any other way. Hopefully next year we can spend it on the beach somewhere.
