Green thumbing it!

The bane of my existence as of the last four weeks has been how awful our porch looks! And as it gets nicer and nicer outside I have been dying to go sit out on the porch and read my book. So on Sunday I decided to go to Lowes and get some supplies!

People always stare at me when I take photos of things in stores....but I needed to capture a picture of my supplies. I wanted really bright flowers that didn't require full sun (our porch as full sun in some spots but not all!)
Here is the before picture of our porch. I know it's not "awful" but I hate that it was wasted space. Plus we were just using it to store random things!

Chloe loves to come out here! She eats the food that falls off the grill lol...and clearly I don't stop her!
These buckets came from Target probably 5 years ago and they were always used for clothing storage at college. I think the colors are so fun and I wanted to use them to plant my flower in. Plus I only reserved 200 dollars for my porch renovation and wanted to be cost effective!

Here is my finished product and it cost about 150 dollars total! The "table" is a pallet I found and placed fabric on and purchased legs for.
We love it out here! At night the solar lights make it look so romantic and because it is in the 70's here at night it is perfect to sit outside and talk! I think it was money well spent!

In door/out door pillows are from Target...I think they make it much more fun and add a pop of color!

I was really feeling my outfit today at work and I wanted to share it! It was a lot of neutrals with a pop of green from my wonderful necklace. I love to be comfortable at work (I am on my feet most of the day, running around, chasing kiddos, etc) so frequently I wear flats. However, these Julianne Hough for Sole Society shoes are amazing and the heel support is unparalleled! I wore them from 8am-730pm (long day) without a single complaint!

Striped Shirt- $6 old navy
Straight leg gray pants- $27 Target

Loving my new hair color!

My new Louis Vuitton Garment bag!

Travel Day

We're headed to Buffalo this weekend to celebrate my birthday and I am beyond excited! Unfortunately our flight from Jacksonville was delayed but we did make it on time and made our connecting flight! This was my post-work look or as Drew and I were calling "Travel Chic" (actually I just made him call it that")
I always get about a million complements on this scarf! I love it and it doubled as a blanket on the plane...you can never go wrong with a target purchase!

We were being a little silly before we left...I have no clue what would posses me to hold this fox lol

Packing our stuff...Drew is a surprisingly good packer!

                                                                     my sweetheart!

She was being extremely dramatic! She hates when we leave and the second we got home she went nuts
I treated my self to wine and sushi...I am not a good flier and the wine helps me feel better (the sushi is just good)

26 years old!

For my pre-birthday night my wonderful friends took me out for dinner and drinks and we had a blast! They always do the most wonderful things for me! We had such a good time and here are some snap shop of the evening!

Showing off my newly lightened hair do! Love this Tobi ombre dress I got for like 20 dollars and I must have gotten a million compliments on it!

Nicole gave me this GORGEOUS bag...I am seriously in love with it! It's already my new go to! It's from a wonderful like shop in East Aurora, NY.
Sister love! (Please note: my sister does not normally wear these stupid glasses, they are our friend Joey's)

My Jenny is SO wonderful and literally this entire night was all because of her! When looking for a best friend- you need to make sure you find all her qualities!

We really made fun of these two for wearing vinyl jackets (Alex is pretending to be in the side car LOL)

When you work as a school psychologist, events like those that occurred in Boston seem to be amplified in the school environment. Kiddos are so confused about terrorist attacks and they do not know how to conceptualize their own safety. For this week I thought it would be good to include two links to resources that help explain bombing and terrorist attacks to students and your own kids.

Hopefully these will help ease some of the anxiety children feel and some of the anxiety parents deal with when trying to help their kids.
We need to remember that these events do not impact just those families effected or Boston residents...it affects everyone....
Today I wore my "Inspire" bracelet to work because I was hopeful that it would help me stay positive and it would remind me that these events can inspire all of us to change the world. I hope to one day bring kids into a safe environment where people can run events without fearing for their lives...

Trends!

I finally pulled out all of my summer clothes (I have done my shoes yet but I will this weekend!)...Getting all my summer stuff out always get me so excited and it makes me feel like I have new clothes (because I tend to forget about everything over the sad winter months). Seeing everything made me want to go shopping though, everything I see in stores is so adorable! Especially here in the south, we have TONS of cute boutiques! From chevron to neon...I want it all! I found some pictures on pinterest that are inspiring me right now and I thought I would share them! Happy Friday everyone!!

March Madness!

Not that I am in anyway a basketball fan, but of all the organized/televised sports, basketball is my favorite! So instead of watching the game at home, Drew and I decided to go to our favorite Wilmington bar-Copper Penny! We weren't going to eat, but I can't not have the spinach artichoke dip...which lead to chocolate chip bread pudding. We had a fantastic time. First we cheered for Louisville ( I think it is because we both saw the player break his leg in such a horrific way, we both felt that team deserved the win) and then I cheered for Syracuse (close to my home town) and Drew cheered for Michigan.

Before we left for the bar, Chloe made sure to be very dramatic and sad about us getting ready. She can actually sense that were getting ready to go and she hates it...which of course breaks my heart!

Wearing orange in support of 'Cuse! Emily's family supports Syracuse to the death, which of course means I do toooo!!!

I am loving Loreal's BB cream "Medium"... it is the best foundation EVER!! Normally I feel so made up, but you cant even tell you're wearing it and it's only 9 dollars!

my handsome guy rooting on Louisville for the win at Copper Penny, loving the captain and 7!

Doing my part to support March Madness the only way I know how...with wine!
